Wake Up & Vote

Crochet artist London Kaye will lead a nationwide team of 153 crocheters in an historic public art installation on International Women’s Day to celebrate the election of the first woman, Black, and Asian American Vice President. Participants are encouraged to use the yarn they already have at home, making this a sustainable collaboration. After four years of staunch division politics, this project is meant to remind people what we can do when we work together to create something larger than ourselves. A small grant will support Wake Up & Vote (fiscal sponsor: Creative Visions), an independent video production operation, to film the art installation process and create short-form videos for free use by women’s advocacy groups.
