For close to a decade, the Criterion Institute has been at the forefront of the emergent field of gender lens investing and has played a central role in defining the field and catalyzing the involvement of thousands of people in the space. Criterion convenes diverse finance professionals and gender experts, hosts workshops, develops tools and resources, and engages institutions to have broader conversations about the intersection of gender and financial systems, pushing beyond a focus on the number of women in corporate leadership positions to move transformative measures. As the field of gender lens investing gains momentum, Criterion is working to ensure the field stays focused on influencing the fundamental power dynamics at play within financial systems and building the capacity of more diverse organizations to engage in the field.
