Executive Directors of Color Collective
We face an unprecedented and racialized concentration of wealth and power, devastating ecological collapse, staggering state violence against communities of color, a rapid resurgence of fascist formations, and incisive attacks on our most basic rights and democratic institutions. Simultaneously, we have seen a reimagination of individual and collective power, activism rise, new models of organizing, resistance to white supremacy, sexism and other systems of oppression, and transformational policy proposals rooted in impacted communities. It’s in this context that a new generation of executives of color have stepped into leadership at some of the largest progressive movement organizations in the country, tasked with transforming their organizations and saving the world at the same time. The Compton Foundation is supporting this new Executive Directors of Color Collective (fiscal sponsor: State Voices) to convene and build relationships among this group.
